ANTIQUE BOAT MUSEUM TO HOST FREE VESSEL INSPECTIONS BY THE USCG AUXILIARY

CLAYTON, New York (June 2, 2013) – Have you had your boat inspected yet this season?

The Antique Boat Museum will sponsor a free courtesy vessel inspection for area boaters on Sunday, June 29 at the Museum’s floating docks, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Members of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Auxiliary Flotilla09ER-01-06 from Alexandria Bay will be present to inspect vessels.

The USCG Auxiliary will check all required paperwork and safety equipment, including: your boat registration certificate and registration decal, personal flotation devices (life-jackets), Type IV flotation aids, fire extinguisher, horn or whistle, day and nighttime visual distress signals (flares), navigation lights, anchor and line.

Bowline Boutique, the Museum’s store, now carries select boating essentials in the event that items are needed in order to pass inspection.

Upon the successful completion of the inspection boaters will receive an official USCG inspection sticker to place on your vessel’s windshield. The sticker will not prevent future USCG stops out on the River, but will certainly facilitate the encounter.
