Antique Boat Museum - Clayton NY
CLAYTON, New York (April 7, 2014) – The Antique Boat Museum (ABM),
North America’s premier freshwater nautical museum based in Clayton, New York,
will celebrate “National Cherish an Antique Day” on Wednesday, April 9.
The ABM urges antique owners, and more specifically antique boat
owners, to take a moment on Wednesday to cherish their aged masterpiece and
relish in its historic roots.
Antique boat owners are also encouraged to submit a favorite photo
of their boat to enews@abm.org prior
to 10 a.m. on Wednesday for a chance to be entered in an online photo contest.
Beginning at Noon on Wednesday, all submitted photos will be placed on the
Museum’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/antiqueboatmuseum) for a chance to win an ABM prize package, which includes
admission passes, a speedboat ride for two, and a piece of merchandise. The
winner will be determined by the number of ‘likes’ the photo receives. Contest
will conclude on Friday at 5 p.m.
The ABM is home to North America’s largest antique boat collection
with more than 300 boats and over 1,000 boating artifacts. In addition, the
Museum is also host of the longest running antique boat show, which will
celebrate its 50th year this August 1-3, and is known as the
birthplace of the antique raceboat regatta.
The Museum will open for the 2014 season on May 2.
